8 Tart Apple (3-4 lbs,) peeled,cored and sliced
Grated zest 1 lemon
1/2 C. Sugar
1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
1/4 tsp. Salt
1/4 tsp. Chinese 5 spice powder
1 C. (2 sticks) Butter, melted
1/2 C. White Sugar
1/2 C. Brown Sugar
1 Lg. Egg
1 1/2 C. All purpose Flour
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
1 tsp. Baking Powder

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Toss apples, lemon zest, brown sugar and spices until combined. Spread mixture in a 13 X 9" baking dish. Whisk butter, white sugar in bowl, Add egg and vanilla. Stir in flour,baking powder and salt. Use a spoon to drop large dollops of batter over apples, leaving space in
between. Bake approx. 45 minutes or until topping is golden
