3/4 c. Crisco shortening
1/4 c. molasses
2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. flour

Melt shortening in sauce pan over low heat. Let cool, add sugar, molasses and egg. Beat well. Add dry ingredients and mix. Roll in 1 inch balls and roll in sugar.
Bake 375 8 - 10 minutes.
