1 package chopped dates
1 cup boiling water.
1 tsp. baking soda
1 T. baking cocoa.
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar.
2 eggs
1-3/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt.
chocolate chips
nuts.
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Over chopped dates pour 1 cup boiling water.
Let cool. Add baking soda and baking cocoa.

Cream together butter and sugar. Add
eggs, flour, and salt.

Combine the two mixtures. Pour into a greased and floured 9" X 13" cake plan. On top of batter, sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts.

Bake at 350 F. for 25-30 minutes. Sprinkle with
powdered sugar, and cool cake before serving.
