1 c. miniature marshmallows
2 c. (2 - 10 oz pkgs) frozen strawberries in syrup, thawed
1 pkg. (3 oz) strawberry flavored gelatin
2 1/4 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs

Generously grease 9x13 pan. Sprinkle marshmallow over the bottom. Thoroughly combines strawberries with syrup and dry gelatin. Set aside. In a large bowl combine remaining ingredients. Blend at low speed until moistened; beat 3 minutes, at medium speed.
Pour batter evenly over marshmallows. Spoon strawberry mixture evenly over batter. Bake 350 45-50 minutes, until golden brown and toothpick comes out clean. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
