6 apples sliced

Syrup:
3/4 c. sugar
1 c. water
couple drops of red food coloring

Shortcake:
1 c. flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. Crisco shortening
1/3 to 1/2 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Bring syrup to boil for 60 seconds. Place sliced apples in cake pan and pour syrup over apples. Mix shortcake ingredients together and form into balls and dent in the middle and lay on top of apples. Add butter and sugar and cinnamon to each. Bake: 450 12 to 15 minutes.
