Cream together butter, brown sugar, white sugar
Beat in egg yolks, water
Stir in flour baking soda, salt
Spread in a greased 9" X 13" baking pan using a wet knife.
Sprinkle over dough: chocolate chips
Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry
Fold into whites - brown sugar, chopped nuts
Spread meringue over the bars. Bake at 350 F. for 30 minutes. Meringue should be browned and dry.
