4 cups okra, sliced 1/4 inch thick
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup plain cornmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup vegetable oil

Directions:
Directions:
In a shallow bowl, beat egg. In another shallow bowl, mix cornmeal and salt. Dip okra pieces in egg, and then in cornmeal. Heat oil in a skillet until medium-hot. Fry okra in oil until golden brown, turning once. Drain on a plate lined with paper towels. Serve hot.
