"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
4C Apples Sliced and Peeled. (Macintosh if you can find them)
2T Flour
½ C Sugar
1 tsp Cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Place the sliced and peeled apples in a large bowl. Mix together flour, sugar and cinnamon. Add to your apples, stirring. Coat well (I use my hands!)

Set aside to prepare your crust. I use pre-made Pillsbury crust and work it into the pie plate. Homemade is great too.

Pour Apple mixture in crust. Cover with the following topping:
½ C Butter (at room temp)
½ C Flour
½ C Sugar

Mix topping until crumbly. You can use a fork, but I use my hands. Mixture will be lumpy and soft. Crumble it on top of your apples using your fingers. Last, you will want to smear some butter along the outside crust-edges, as this is the 1st to darken while baking.

Place pie in a brown paper-bag. Fold the ends under. Place bag onto cookie sheet. Using the lowest rack of your oven, bake at 400 for one hour.
Sack will not burn. Don’t forget the vanilla bean ice cream 
