2 sticks butter - melted
1 C water
3 heaping T cocoa powder
(1) 2 eggs slightly beaten
(2) cup buttermilk
(3) 2 cups sugar
(4) Mix of
a. 2 cups flour
b. 1 tsp baking soda
c. 1 tsp salt
(5) 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
First, melt butter and add water and cocoa powder. Then add ingredients to the hot mix in the order given. Bake in greased jelly roll pan at 350 for 20-30 minutes.

Frosting:
1 stick butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 T cocoa
6 T buttermilk
(optional) 1 cup broken/chopped nuts (add last)

Bring to boil and add 1 lb powdered sugar. Beat. Spread on cooled cake

This is worth the effort!!!
