Ingredients:  
1 C navy beans - bring to boil in a pot for several minutes then drain
in another pot/pan add:
1/2 oil
1 cup sliced cabbage
1 cup diced celery
1 onion - diced
1-2 cloves garlic - minced
and saute lightly
1 large tin of diced tomatoes
8 cups water
2 beef bullion cubes
1/2 cup macaroni
spice with: basil, oregano 1-2 tsp, pepper, salt and finish with parsley

Directions:

cook very slowly for 2- 2.5 hours

serve with a generous sprinkle of Parmesan cheese
