4-5 Beef Bouillon Cubes
1 Large Onion
Garlic Salt
Dried Oregano - 1 tbsp.
Black Pepper
Ham Hock - 1 large or 2 small

Directions:
Directions:
In a large Kettle, Dutch Oven or Crock Pot soak the Pinto Beans covered with Water overnight. Add all remaining ingredients. Cook 3-4 hours on Medium Heat or all day in Crock Pot, make sure there is enough liquid that it doesn't boil out. Serve when beans are tender. To make vegetarian omit the Hocks.

We always had these beans with Cornbread & Collard Greens or a bowl of Beans and a stack of bread slices. Dad would break up his Cornbread into a glass of Buttermilk and I would pretend that I liked it too. I think when I was very young that most times we did not have the Ham Hock - - that was for when the paycheck allowed for it!!
