2 c. cooked wild rice
4 to 6 chicken breasts, cooked and cubed
1 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped carrots
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
8 c water
9 tsp. chicken base
pepper to taste
1 4oz. can mushroom (optional)
1/2 c half & half

Directions:
Directions:
In skillet saute celery, carrots and onion in butter. Add flour. Put water, chicken base, and pepper in 6 qt crockpot. Add cooked rice and chicken, vegetable mixture, and mushrooms. Cook 5-6 hours. Just before serving add the half & half.

You can use chicken bouillon cubes in place of the chicken base but the soup will be saltier tasting. This recipe is very good. I'm asked for the recipe everytime I serve it to somebody new.
