1 c. shortening
1 c. granulates sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs well beaten
1 c. peanut butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

2 1/2 c. flour (for richer cookies) OR
3 c. flour for less rich cookies

Directions:
Directions:
Thoroughly cream shortening, sugars, eggs and vanilla. Stir in peanut butter. Sift dry ingredients; stir into creamed mixture.
Drop by rounded teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet. Press with back of floured fork to make crisscrosses.
Bake in moderate oven (350º) about 10 minutes.
