2 c. sugar
2 c. self rising flour
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. water
1 stick margarine
3 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 unbeaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Frosting:
1 stick margarine
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. chopped pecans
3 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 box powdered sugar

Directions:

Mix well sugar and flour. Bring to a boil- 1/4 c. shortening, 1 c. water, 1 stick margarine, and 3 1/2 tbsp. cocoa. Pour this not mixture over the sugar and flour. Next, add the remaining ingredients (1/2 c. buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla).
Mix well and pour into a 11 x 16 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 400º until done.
Frosting - Boil 1 stick margarine, 1/2 c. buttermilk, and 3 1/2 tbsp. cocoa until slightly thickened. Remove from heat and add the powdered sugar and pecans. Frost while cake is hot.
