Cream 1 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of shortening.

Add 2 eggs,
1 oz of red food coloring,
1 3/4 cup of cake flour,
1/4 teaspoon of salt, & 1 tsp of cinnamon.
Mix all together

Add 1 cup of buttermilk, 1 tsp lemon extract, 1tsp orange extract and mix.

Add 1 tsp baking soda and 1 tsp of vinegar to batter and mix.

Bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees

For the icing.

Cook the following slowly like sauce over medium heat and chill.

4 tablespoons of flour, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 cup of milk added slowly.

Cream 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup shortening, 1/2/ tsp vanilla flavoring, and 1 stick of oleo.

Pour sauce into sugar mixture and whip until its the texture of whipped cream.
