"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Directions:
Combine Bourbon, ketchup, brown sugar, minced onion, Worcestershire sauce and hot pepper sauce in saucepan. Simmer uncovered 30 minutes stirring occasionally. Cut Franks into quarters. Add Franks to hot sauce and simmer 30 minutes more. Serve hot as appetizers with toothpicks. Makes 40 appetizers. Can use 1/4 cup barbecue sauce extra with ketchup. These are better made the night before and refrigerated, then reheat about 30 minutes on medium heat before serving. Great for the crock pot also.
