1/2 lb smoked slab bacon, cut into 1 in pieces
1 small yellow onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
3/4 c brown sugar
4 T black molasses
3/4 c ketchup
3 T Worcestershire sauce
4 14 oz cans of cooked beans

Directions:
In a large skillet, cook bacon on medium heat until browned; remove and reserve. Drain all but 1 T bacon fat from pan, return to medium-low heat. Add onion and garlic, sautee for 5 min until soft but not browned. Add brown sugar, stirring until melted. Add remaining ingredient through Worcestershire sauce. Stir and simmer on low for 10 min.

Drain and rinse beans thoroughly to remove starch and extra salt water. Place beans in a large glass casserole dish, add sauce and reserved bacon and mix to coat all beans.

Cover with foil or lid and place casserole dish in a preheated 350 degree oven for one hour. Uncover and stir. Cook for uncovered until mixture is bubbling. Remove and serve immediately.

Use a variety of beans such as pinto, kidney, black or whatever you like. The colors and textures of the varied beans make the dish a bit more interesting.
