1 cup sugar
4 tablespoons cornstarch
3 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
3 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup regular milk
4 tablespoons butter


Meringue:
3 egg whites
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cream of tartar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in saucepan. Book stirring constantly until thickened. Lower heat and let bubble three minutes. Pour into baked pie shell.

Beat egg whites till soft peaks form; add sugar and cream of tartar; beat till stiff; place on pie, sealing edges. Bake till brown at 375.

The family has tested many combinations of ingredients and we believe that this is Grandma Puett's recipe. She made it often but never used a recipe.
