1 yellow cake mix
1 can pineapple slices-save juice
1 Cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 jar maraschino cherries (optional)

Directions:
Preheat Oven to 350º bake 32-40 minutes When you flour pan, use a bit of the cake mix instead of flour. this prevents the white flour spots and just makes the cake more presentable.
Add spices to cake mix when preparing mix as directed on box except- instead of using water, use juice from pineapple rings and add enough water to achieve the amount directed.
combine butter and sugar in skillet heat slowly and then remove from heat when melted. move melted butter and sugar to lightly floured/oiled cake pan. Spread in bottom of pan. Evenly space pineapple slices around the bottom of pan over butter and sugar mixture. Place cherries in center of pineapple ring. Pour prepared cake batter on top of mixture. Lightly tap on counter to remove air bubbles. When cake is done, immediately invert onto plate to remove from baking dish.
