(1) c. butter softened
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. packed light brown sugar
(1) tsp. vanilla
(2) eggs
2 & 1/4 c. unsifted flour
(1) tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
(2) pkg. (12 oz.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
(1) c. chopped pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the butter, sugar, light brown sugar, and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs and beat well after each addition. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Beat well. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool slightly. Remove from cookie sheet. Cool completely on wire rack. Serves about 6 dozen.

Milk chocolate chips can be substituted for the semi-sweet chocolate chips if desired.
