2 1/4 c. flour
2 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 salt
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. molasses
3T sugar (to roll cookies)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 6 ingredients in large bowl. In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add egg and molasses and beat well. Stir in dry ingredients (or use mixer).

Shape into 1 1/2" balls. Roll in sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.

I sprinkle a little more sugar on top when they come out of the oven.
