"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Applesauce Bars (BEST EVER!!), by Suzanne Kelly, is from A Memoir Of Family Recipes,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.

1/2 cup butter or margarine 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg 1 cup smooth applesauce
1 cup dark raisins 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Sift together first 5 ingredients. Cream together butter, brown sugar and sugar. Stir in egg and applesauce. Add the flour mixture, then add in raisins and chopped nuts. Spread in pan lined with foil or parchment paper. Bake at 350 until browned [30 to 40 minutes] . While warm - spread with confectioners sugar moistened with hot milk - this has to be of a runny consistency.
