Raw spinach leaves (with ribs removed)
salt and pepper
2 tablespoons sugar
1 pound bacon
1 small onion sliced thin
1 package frozen peas, thawed
2 cans water chestnuts, drained
chopped lettuce
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup miracle whip
3/4 cup grated Swiss cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Spread thin layer of spinach leaves on bottom of casserole dish (9x13). Sprinkle salt and pepper and 1 tablespoon sugar over spinach. Cook bacon and crumble it over the spinach. Separate the onion slices into rings and place over bacon. Add the water chestnuts and then peas. Add another sprinkle of salt , pepper and 1 tablespoon sugar. Add chopped lettuce. Combine mayonnaise and miracle whip and spread evenly over lettuce; then sprinkle cheese over all and refrigerate overnight.
