1/2 cup butter softened
16 ounces brown sugar
3 eggs
3 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted
2 1/4 cups flour, sifted
2 teaspoons soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour cream
1 cup hot water
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Frosting:
4 squares unsweetened chocolate
1/2 cup butter
16 ounces powdered sugar
milk
2 teaspoons vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, gradually add sugar beating well. Add eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition. Add melted chocolate, mixing well.
Combine flour, soda and salt; gradually add to chocolate mixture alternately with sour cream, beating well after each addition. Add water, mixing well; stir in vanilla. Batter will be thin. Bake in two greased and floured 9-inch cake pans. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes. Cook and Frost.

Frosting:
Melt chocolate and butter stirring constantly; add sugar, vanilla, and chocolate. Set bowl in ice while whipping, Whip with electric mixer for 2 minutes, adding milk to get spreadable consistency.
