8 cans beets w/juice (Food Lion) 2 cups sugar 2 cups apple cider vinegar 2 cups water ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper each jar) 5 - 6 whole cloves optional) Heat jars & lids (4 pint jars)
The food Lion brand of beets seem to be consistently small in size. Heat the beets in the liquid. Place drained beets in the jars. You can pack them a little tight. Pour the hot liquid over beets. Cap with hot seals.
