2 1/4 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon water
2 eggs
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, baking soda, salt. Set aside. Cream until fluffy: butter, shortening, both sugars, vanilla; beat in eggs. Add flour mixture; mix well. Add chocolate chips and nuts.

Drop on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 10 to 12 minutes.

Bake only the amount of cookies you want to eat, chill remaining dough in refrigerator covered.

The Wells cousins made this recipe with all butter, no shortening. Some cousins prefer no nuts!
