2 sticks of Butter or Margarine
1 1/2 c. Sugar
3 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 tbsp. Baking Powder
Dash Salt
1 c. Chocolate Chips (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat butter & sugar together. Add eggs one at a time and beat (mixture). Stir in vanilla into mixture.
Sift together & stir into mixture flour, baking powder and salt. Add chocolate chips. Drop on greased cookie sheets & bake 10 minutes at 350.

This is a recipe from Eric's grandmother, Mamie Collins Hailey of Marshall, TX. Eric's mom - Margaret Hailey made these cookies often, and she added chocolate chips to the batter. If the cookies got hard, she would put in a slice of bread to soften them.
