2 sticks of Butter or Margarine
1 1/2 c. Sugar
3 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
3 c. Flour
1 tbsp. Baking Powder
Dash Salt [about 1/2 tsp.]
1 c. Chocolate Chips (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Beat Butter & Sugar together. Add Eggs one at a time and beat well. Stir Vanilla into mixture. Sift together Flour, Baking Powder and Salt; stir into mixture. Add chocolate chips. Drop on greased cookie sheets & bake 10 minutes at 350º.

This is a recipe from Eric's grandmother, Mamie Collins Hailey of Marshall, TX. Eric's mom - Margaret Hailey made these cookies often, and she added chocolate chips to the batter. If the cookies got hard, she would put in a slice of bread in the Cookie Jar to soften them.
