1 cup shortening
4 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda (add to milk)
1 1/2 cup buttermilk

Directions:

Sift dry ingredients together, cut in shortening as for pie crust. Take out 1 cup crumbs for topping. Add soda to milk and add to dry ingredients. Pour into 2-9" greased round cake pans or 8" square and sprinkle crumbs over

350 - 45 minutes
