1 can creamed corn (14-16oz)
2 slices of white bread
1 egg
1/4 - 1/2 cup of whole milk
1/4 cup chopped pepper (color of your choice)

Mix together and bake covered at 350º for 1 hour or a little less. May top with crushed crackers. Bake uncovered last 10 minutes to lightly brown the top.

I grew up eating this dish only during the holidays. I always forgot about it and viewed it with great suspicion on the table. But there was a family rule that you had to at least taste everything served. Then I always wanted seconds!
It's often prepared in a bread pan. It's very easy to double.
