1 pkg. yeast (1/4 c. warm water)
1/2 c. brown sugar
1T. salt
2 1/2 cups warm water
1/4 c. shortening
3 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
4 cups (about) white flour

Directions:
Directions:
Add brown sugar, salt and shortening to warm water. Then add yeast that has been dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water, add whole wheat flour then add regular flour. Put on floured board and knead till smooth (about 5 min).

Let rise until double. Punch down and roll out with rolling pin and put in (2) bread pans.

Bake 350 about 45 minutes
