3/4 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/4 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
6 pared, cooked sweet potatoes, halved lengthwise

Directions:
Directions:
In large, heavy sauce pan or Dutch oven, combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, salt. Bring to boiling, over low heat, stirring until butter melts and sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat: add sweet potatoes. Baste well with syrup; cook covered, over very low heat, turning once in 15 minutes. Uncover; cook, basting occasionally, 15 minutes longer or until potatoes are well glazed.

From the time Bob and I married in 1959 until 1974 we spent Thanksgiving at my Grandma Carrie Jane Singleton Puett's home. Grandma and my father, Wayne Puett, died in 1975. Candied sweet potatoes were always on the table at these feasts.
