2 cans green beans

sugar

L. B. Jamison's Ham Flavored Soup Base (dry flavoring)

This makes enough for about 4 servings. It's also "to taste" so adjust as necessary. No two cans of beans seem to be the same.

Drain only one can of the beans. Put both cans (including liquid from one of the cans) into a saucepan. Add about one teaspoon of sugar and two or three teaspoons of the ham seasoning. Boil vigorously, stirring frequently, until liquid is almost gone.

The seasoning is salty, so usually no salt is needed. Adjust as necessary if you think it needs more ham seasoning--waiting until it has cooked a while helps to determine the actual flavor
