3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. corn syrup
3/4 c. water
2 egg whites
1 c. nuts (chopped pecans)
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Bring all ingredients to a boil, except nuts and vanilla, until becomes medium hard ball. Remove and add to (well beaten) egg whites. Beat until candy becomes thick enough to spread. Add vanilla & nuts, and drop onto wax paper.

I remember calling grandma, in tears, way back in 1976. I told her that my divinity would not turn out right, and it was too runny. She went over the recipe with me several times until I got it. Probably 3 -4 long distance phone calls, and several batches of ingredients...expensive candy
