This recipe for MEATBALLS, by Joy Burgess, is from The Cousins' Heritage Cookbook,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 lb. ground beef 1/2 cup bread crumbs 1/3 cup minced onion 1/4 cup milk 1 egg 1 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon pepper 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1 12-oz. bottle chili sauce 1 10-oz. jar grape jelly
Mix together the ground beef, bread crumbs, minced onion, milk, egg, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce; form into 1-inch balls. Brown in shortening. Melt together the chili sauce and grape jelly; add meatballs. Drain fat and simmer for 30 minutes.
Another Christmas Brunch favorite, the meatballs and their sauce can be put in a crock pot on low and kept warm.
