Ingredients:
Ingredients:
5 fresh eggs
3 cups white sugar
1 can Eagle Brand
1 dash of salt
1 tablespoon vanilla
2 cans crushed pineapple, undrained
half and half or whole milk to fill the rest of the two-quart freezer

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs, sugar and Eagle Brand until thick and yellow, making sure the sugar is completely dissolved. Stir in vanilla and pineapple. Pour mixture into a two-quart ice cream freezer container and fill to the fill-line with cream or milk. Place in ice cream maker and crank until firm according to maker's directions. When firm, pack with ice and salt, making sure not to get any salt into the ice cream. Allow to stand and "cure" as long as the crowd will stand for it. This is the part where everyone grabs their bowls and stands around ready to score the first scoop.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Now, a person could make this ice cream with fresh sliced freestone peaches, fat ripe boysenberries, strawberries, or even chocolate. But as long as Nana Margie was making the mixings and Poppy Homer was cranking, the potion was pineapple! This ice cream is best on blistering hot summer night around the 4th of July. It's always best when prepared in a WhiteMountain Ice Cream Freezer with real ice and real rock salt.
