1/2 c. butter, softened
2 c. sugar, divided
2 eggs
1 c. plain yogurt
2 tsp. almond extract
2 c. flour
3 tsp. poppy seeds
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
sliced almonds

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, cream together butter and 1 cup of the sugar. Beat in eggs one at a time. Stir in yogurt and add almond extract.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, poppy seeds, salt, remaining 1 cup of sugar and baking soda. Add to butter mixture and blend until moistened. Pour into greased muffin cups. Sprinkle each with sliced almonds. Bake in preheated oven at 400º for 15 to 20 minutes.
