2 pounds (8 C) pecan halves 2 pounds (4 C) white sugar ½ gallon (8 C) water
1. Bring water and sugar to a boil. 2. Add nuts and boil until tender (about 30 minutes). 3. Drain nuts and spread on cookie sheets. 4. Bake at 200 degrees until golden (this will take 4-5 hours!). 5. Store in airtight container.
These take a long time but are well worth it! They make great gifts.
