"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
Mix flour, salt and baking powder. Make a well in center and add other ingredients. Mix well, adding more flour if needed. Roll out on floured board (roll out fairly thin) and cut into strips. Cut one slit in centre and pull half of roll kuchen through this slit. Fry in deep, hot oil until brown. Serve while still warm. This recipe is from our neighbor in Manitou, Helen Klassen. We always had roll kuchen with watermelon in the summer. Sometimes we dipped the roll kuchen in Roger's Golden Syrup. Mmmm.
