3/4 cup shortening (Crisco) melted
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses

2 cups flour
2 tsp soda
1/4 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger

Directions:
Directions:
Melt shortening, add sugar, molasses and egg. Beat well. Add dry ingredients. Grease baking sheet. Bake at 375º for 8 to 10 minutes. Note: If doubling the batch, mix each batch separately.

These cookies were Julie and Jackie's favorite cookies thus the name. Later, when talking to my Mom she stated this was Ma's cookie recipe.
