Crust:
1 &1/2 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 c cold butter
1/2 c sugar
Filling:
1/2 c potato flakes
8 oz almond paste
1 &1/2 c powdered sugar
1/2 c hot water
1 tsp almond extract
1 large egg beaten
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg


Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, combine crust, save 1 c for the top crust. Press mixture into a greased 9 X 13 pan.
Combine well the filling ingredient, spread over crumb crust. Sprinkle remaining crumb crust over all. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon and a few finely chopped almonds or slivered almonds.
Bake at 375 for 25 to 35 minutes. Should be light brown. Cool and cut into bars.
