8 oz. Ground Chicken or Pork
1/2 c. Carrot, Shredded
1/4 c. Water Chestnuts, drained, chopped
1 tbsp. Soy Sauce or Ponzu Sauce
2 tsp. Ginger Root, Grated
1 tbsp. Sherry, optional
2 tsp. Cornstarch mixed in 1/4 c. Cold Water
1/2 pkg. Wonton Wrappers
2 tbsp. Butter
Sauces to Serve With: Plum or Sweet & Sour Sauce, Sweet Chili Sauce, Siracha, Hot Mustard Sauce

Saute Meat on low heat breaking it up to fine consistency. Add Carrot, Chestnuts, Soy Sauce, Ginger Root & Sherry [optional], cook for 5 minutes, remove from heat to cool. Place tbsp. Meat mixture on Wonton Wrap, dip finger in Cornstarch-Water mix and moisten edges of Wrap - bring all edges to center and seal to create a pinwheel-looking package. Repeat to use filling, place lightly oiled baking sheet . Brush with melted, cooled Butter. Bake in 375º oven 8-10 minutes 'til lightly browned. When cool arrange on serving platter with several purchased sauces.

I had these at the Orchards Restaurant in Sedona & experimented to come up with this recipe. Completely cool the filling before assembling; can be frozen and then baked to serve. Do not microwave reheat or they will come out soft and more like a Potsticker.
