1 large can of tomato juice
2 large cans of crushed tomatoes
1 large onion chopped fine
2 cans 6 oz tomato paste
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tsp basil
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp paprika
2 cloves garlic chopped fine
3 lbs fresh ground pepperoni sausage. (mom used 1 lb pepperoni, 1 lb Italian sausage and 1lb ground beef.)

Bring to boil in a large kettle all ingredients except meat. Mix meat and shape into sandwich size patties. Heat long enough to remove excess fat, but not until browned. Drop gently into sauce with a spatula. Let simmer for 2 hours or more, stirring gently once in awhile.

Serve on Italian bread or rolls, Pour sauce over sandwich for a sloppy dago.
