l lb. butter
l lb. brown sugar
4 1/2 cups flour (self-rising)
1 tsp. soda
3 eggs
1 tsp.vanilla
3 lbs. pecans
1 pt. pineapple preserves (16 oz.)
4 oz. candied pineapple
4 oz. green candied cherries
1/2 lb. dates chopped
3 tbsp. milk (2- oz.)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar, add eggs one at a time. Add flour and soda alternately with milk and preserves. Then add vanilla and mix well. Stir in fruit that has been cut in small pieces and dredged in some of the flour in the recipe. Add chopped nuts and mix well. Drop by teaspoons on ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 350º for 15-18 minutes or until brown as you like. Can make rolls and freeze and slice with serated knife and bake later.
