Personal Notes:
Note: suet can be gotten from butcher. It is beef fat. My grandma Cleo Payne Nottingham made this English delight. She served it warm with butter sauce but I liked it cold. Of course I like fruit cake too. This generation doesn’t eat it so it has lost its place at our holiday table. It truly is delicious. Don't tell them there is suet in it and they will consider it a wonderful spice cake. It is very rich.
