2 lb. hamburger
1 large onion, coarsely chopped
2 (14 oz.) cans recipe-cut tomatoes
1 (14 oz.) can green beans
1 (14 oz.) can sliced white potatoes
1 (14 oz.) can sliced carrots
1 (8 oz.) can corn
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce (if you want the stew to be juicier)
Salt and pepper to taste

Brown hamburger with onion; drain. Add the rest of the ingredients, making sure to drain off extra water from the cans. Simmer for about an hour to blend. Serve with cheese bread and a green salad.

This isn't exactly health food, but it sure is cheap and easy. Nanny just loved it; it was actually one of her creations! When she came to visit, I always made sure to have it for dinner at least once!
