1 jar (10 oz.) maraschino cherries
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 can evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 tsp. almond extract
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped pecans

Directions:
Grease and flour 3 loaf pans. Drain cherries, reserving 1/2 cup of juice. Chop cherries and set aside.

In large bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, milk, vanilla, almond extract and reserved cherry juice. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add pecans and chopped cherries. Stir dry mixture into liquid mixture until just moist. Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake at 350º for 40 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.
