1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. butter
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. applesauce
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Directions:
Combine dry ingredients in large bowl; mix well, set aside. Melt butter and chocolate carefully in microwave. Add chocolate mixture, applesauce, eggs and nuts to flour mixture and mix well.

Pour into 2 greased loaf pans. Bake at 350º for 50 to 55 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes. Remove from pans and cool on wire rack.
