2 to 3 cloves of garlic
2 cans of chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drain, reserving juice
small bunch of parsley
1 grated carrot
1/4 red pepper
1/4 yellow pepper (optional)
1/3 c. lemon juice
1 tsp. cumin
salt
pinch cayenne pepper

I put the garlic in the food processor first, add the rest of the ingredients and blend. Drizzle 1 to 2 Tbs. olive oil as you are processing. If it is too dry, you can add a small amount of water or liquid from the chickpeas. You can add a little plain yogurt if you want it to be creamier.

Serve with Pita bread, toasted and cut into triangles, or celery and carrot sticks.
