3 pts fresh ripe strawberries, hulled and washed or 1 qt frozen berries,
3 c. sugar,
1/2 c. fresh lemon juice,
1/4 c. kirsch,
1 c. walnuts,

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients except walnuts in a heavy saucepan. cook over low heat until sugar dissolves, about 5 min. Increase the heat and bring mixture to a boil. Cook for about 30 min, stirring frequently. Remove from heat and stir in walnuts, Pour immediately into hot sterilized half pint jars and seal. Process in a boiling water bath for 5 min. or refrigerate when cool.
