2 lg. onions,
1/4 c. butter,
4 lg. apples peeled and cored,
1/2 c. water,
2 tbl. brown sugar,
1/4 c. white raisins,
ground cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and pepper to taste,

Directions:
Directions:
Slice onions, separate into rings. saute in heavy cast iron skillet in butter until soft: do not brown. Slice apples into rings. Add water, apples, brown sugar and raisins to skillet: cover. Steam for about 10 min. Sprinkle mixture lightly with cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and pepper.
